- Vayukumbham (Forehead bump) - Broad and projects forwards.
- Thalakkuni (Twin domes on the head) - Big and raised.
- Majestic Look - Raised head and low back.
- Strong Legs - Straight legs without deformity.
- Eyes - Clear honey coloured eyes.
- Large Ears - During fanning produces a loud flapping sound and adds to the beauty of the elephant.
- The Tusk - Evenly seperated tusks with the colour of butter or sandalwood and without scraps.
- The Trunk - Fleshy and long trunk that trails into the ground even if it's head is held high.
- Temporal region - Swollen and fleshy.
- Irikkasthanam - The area where the mahout sits is broad and fleshy.
- Teeth - Good and strong.
- Tail - Straight and long tail that touches the ankle and not the ground. The end of the tail is with ample hair.

sivaraju is a far better elephant than puthankulam pappan,koottukomban..yea obviously he came on top in pattathanam gajamela..but that was given only to his head lifting quality(nilav)(obviously even thechikodan doesnt hav that much of gajalakshanams.still he is a star mainly becos of his height)...and also to encourage him as he is a new face...but according to 'mathangaleela' 'azhak'some times may not cope with 'lakshanams'

he is not a bad elephant..but he is not that good..infact he is looking worse than the photos of him which he is posed.idaneelam there kuranja oraana,kombukalk neelamundengilum vannam kurav,average thumbi,from side view the projection of the 'vayukumbham; will be seen as not propotionate to his head.....u shud see the elephants also then ur openions will change taht is the sure.

I saw both of them during Thrissur Pooram. Both are majestice. Just like raju,the pappan ( I don't know his name) is also having good personality. In fact he reminded me of veerappan (with a taller structure). Both are persona gracified.

i dont accept what dileep is saying. sivaraju is more beautiful than ananthapatmanabhan. he is one of the best nadan elephant. compare sivaraju and anandapatmanabhans kombu . black colur is more for sivaraju. if only looking thalapokkam beautiful elephants would have been gone back. please take back your words

best elephant i have ever seen as far as behavior is concerned. he has all the good lakshanams except for edaneelam. you can't find a single elephant with all the good lakshanams.so sivaraju is the best elephant for me.

I don`t think there should even be any comparison with Thrikadavoor sivaraju. sivaraju as you are aware is an elephant of kerala origin with all the right features required for a complete elephant. He is pretty tall to stand for the competitive poorams. There are very few elephants out there that can even be compared to this young Nadan. He has a bit more to grow as well.

i dont know how u can compare raju and Puthenkulam Ananthapadmanabhan.I think u havent seen raju and Puthenkulam Ananthapadmanabhan yet.Ht i agree with u.But ht is not the only factor that decides an elephant rating or beauty.Puthenkulam Ananthapadmanabhan can come even to the near side of raju for beauty.also he is a young elephant.Puthenkulam Ananthapadmanabhan even havent come inside the top 10 elephants in kerala.please dont wrote these comment unless you know it.

idaneelam theere kuravaanu...compared to all the famous elephants in kerala... "idaneelam" is important factor in juding an elephants beauty.. Puthenkulam Ananthapadmanabhan is much better than Thrikkadavur Shivaraju both in look 'n height...
Puthenkulam Ananthapadmanabhan is the only elephan from south kerala to compete in Head lifting with the King of all kerala elephant, The GREAT PERAMANGALAM THECHIKOTTUKAVU RAMACHANDRAN....
Puthenkulam Anandhapadmanabhanu abhimanikkam...avan THECHIKOTTUKAVU RAMACHANDRAN odanu thottathu... he fought well.... Shivaraju can't even dream about it...ok

otta nilavu ulla aana. Nalla ezhunnalippu chattam undu. even without mahout he will complete an ezhunallipu just following the vilakku (he has proved that once)
